John has recently become a member of Bath Artists Printmakers. He is interested in linocut and etching
These are a recent series of still life Monoprints, inspired by the British tradition of still life painting. The word print refers to the fact that there is one or more repeatable elements in the image( i.e. the stencils of the jug or flower forms), but each one is an original and unique piece, handmade and worked on in layers over a period of days.
Angela Lai Yen studied Surface Pattern at Swansea Metropolitan University and has been a member of BAP since 2008. Her current body of work uses linocut to create dynamic marks and striking colour combinations. She is interested in words and phrases and the simplicity of this, along with pattern and decoration. Angela concentrates on producing limited edition prints and textile related products alongside her teaching at Bath Artist Printmakers and Millie Moon Sewing School.
Dorothea Smyth (Jean Whitley-Smyth) is a long-standing member of Bath Artist Printmakers and also of the Bath Society of Artists, for whom she was until recently the treasurer. She works in etching and aquatint creating landscapes and townscapes in editions.
